Brown University's 12-month, hybrid master's in technology leadership equips innovative thinkers with the strategic leadership skills to manage technological change in today's global economy.

Immerse yourself in a program that surpasses a traditional MBA. Tailored for busy professionals, Brown’s master’s in technology leadership (MTL) program offers a predominantly online learning experience with two residential sessions on Brown’s campus. The rigorous curriculum, taught by accomplished practitioners and top-tier faculty at the School of Engineering, balances technical expertise with strong leadership training. You’ll be equipped with the skills to address complex global and industry-specific challenges in today’s dynamic technology landscape through strategic thinking, persuasive communication and collaborative innovation.

This program offers the following degree:

  • Master of science (Sc.M.): Coursework and a capstone project
    • Online and two residencies

During the program’s fall semester, you’ll engage in a capstone course called the Critical Challenge Project (CCP). Your capstone project will address a real-world business, social or organizational issue, and you’ll work to develop strategic solutions with faculty guidance. Projects often lead to significant outcomes like new products, patents, tech innovations, prototypes and improved decision-making tools.

How will you benefit from this program? You'll gain:
  • A launchpad for career growth and transformation
  • An elite, diverse and international network of peers
  • Cutting-edge knowledge for immediate impact on your life and work
  • Direct access to Brown University's faculty, resources and research centers
